Here are some useful Covid-19 resources to help seniors and their families.
Who is eligible to receive the vaccine?
According to the CDC website, vaccines are now more widely accessible in the U.S. The federal government continues to work toward making vaccines widely available for everyone at no cost. Learn more about how COVID-19 vaccines get to you.
Many doctors’ offices, retail pharmacies, hospitals, and clinics offer COVID-19 vaccinations. Your doctor’s office or local pharmacy may contact you with information about their vaccination plans. Parents, check with your child’s healthcare provider about whether they will offer COVID-19 vaccination.
Where to get vaccinated?
If you’re eligible to get vaccinated now, you can check with a large vaccination hub and/or a local vaccine provider, like a nearby pharmacy or your doctor.
What is V-safe?
V-safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Through v-safe, you can quickly tell CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Depending on your answers, someone from CDC may call to check on you and get more information. V-safe will also remind you to get your second COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one.
Note: V-safe cannot schedule vaccine appointments, including second doses of COVID-19 vaccines. If you need to schedule, reschedule, or cancel a COVID-19 vaccination appointment, contact the location that set up your appointment or a vaccine provider in your area. This may be your state or local health department, employer, or vaccine provider.
