How Respite-Care works?

 Helps Here staff/volunteers provide a friendly sitter-companion service to home-bound/hospitalized seniors to give respite (short break) for their family caregivers.

The respite-care activities may include one or more of the following.

• Friendly conversation
• Reading a book
• Playing board/card games
• Crafting
• Coloring

Terms of service include the following

• Service is based on staff and volunteer availability 
• Fees is $15 per hour for services provided by Helps Here staff 
• For home-bound clients in case of emergency, Helps Here staff/volunteers are authorized to call 911 
• Helps Here staff/volunteer will reach out to the hospital staff in case of emergency for in-hospital clients 
• Only Helps Here volunteers 18 years or older will be providing this service.  
• Other terms of service as agreed by Helps Here and client or their family caregiver before or after starting the service

2. Helps Here staff will review and contact you to confirm services
3. Helps Here will confirm service date and time
